Our Vision

To set the nationwide standard in graduate medical education that is patient-centered and informed by social determinants of health, including systemic racism.

Guiding Principles

Our program attracts residents from various different backgrounds who have versatile experiences to share. We acknowledge the significant impact physicians play in effecting change local and abroad. Thus, we are committed to ensure trainees build on their prior experiences in order to enhance their individual journeys.

Graduates will be equipped to enter the workforce with strong foundations in medical knowledge and skills, geared to continue leading in their individual passions as advocates, educators, and investigators.

Every patient encounter allows the opportunity to identify and address individual biases among ourselves and colleagues, recognize the impact of inequitable social structures, and actively pursue cultural humility. We aim to provide the best care for all patients at all times, leaving a lasting impact.

Current trainees and alumni will continue to partner with the community, nurture connections, and advocate for patients by participating in system-wide changes that address the complexities harbored in the relationship between the American Healthcare System and the national socio-political landscape.

Our program intentionally supports trainees through the rigorous training set forth in a large, multi-faceted, urban medical center by prioritizing balance between academics and individual wellness. We support each other. We recognize that we are humans caring for other humans, which serves as the common denominator that drives compassionate, patient-centered care.
