Margaret Lott was born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. She traveled to the Steel city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to attend the University of Pittsburgh where she obtained a degree in Biology and Africana Studies. She jumped across the street to the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine to complete her medical degree. With a passion for giving back to the underserved and underinsured, she served as a coordinator for a student run free clinic and the Global health & Underserved Area of Concentration. Margaret was also awarded the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship to develop a fitness and health education program for low income women at the YWCA in Homewood, Pittsburgh. For her work with patients and in the community she was a recipient of the Shehan/Cheke Memorial prize for Serving and Honoring the patient. Margaret is excited to journey back home to complete her residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. She looks forward to serving to the globally and socioeconomically diverse patient population, getting to know her amazing co-residents, and exploring the lively city of Miami!
